Not everyone is aware of this, but you can totally achieve all of your dreams! All it really takes is the right psychological and spiritual mindset and you’ve got yourself ready!
You can also be a better version of yourself. A version that you can be proud of. After all, this is why we set goals, right? We simply need to have faith in ourselves and faith can only be achieved if we believe in something like ourselves. If you don’t believe in yourself in the first place, then there’s just no way you’ll be able to achieve a better version of what you are now.
If you’re still doubtful, then sit tight and read this article cuz it’s for you and all the dreamers out there!
Now let’s go back to believing in yourself. You see, there’s something that psychologists like to call, a “Fixed mindset”. People with this kind of mindset believe that they can never be something beyond what they are now. They simply waste themselves and let time pass them by without trying anything to go beyond their comfort zone. To them, what they have now is what they will forever be in their lives, and it’s pointless to keep on trying.
However, contrary to what these people like to believe, it is totally possible for you to still learn something no matter what your age is. According to research on learning theory, we all have a dominant learning style and other backup learning styles that we can rely on when it comes to learning new things. Some of these learning styles include:
#Visual - being able to visualize ideas
#Logical - being able to think logically and analyze your own ideas and the things you know
#Solitary - this is when you like to think and learn alone. This allows you to reflect on yourself and all the ideas that you have.
#Kinesthetic - this is when you like taking action. You use your body, hands, limbs, and senses to learn and pursue your ideas.
#Social - this is when you like learning and experiencing new things with other people. This will allow you to see your idea from different perspectives.
Having these learning styles can set you up for a better life and a better version of yourself. You may have a preferred learning method over others and that’s totally okay!
When it comes to people with a growth mindset, they are usually comfortable with the learning style that they have. For example, visual learners know and appreciate their learning style and make use of it as much as possible. They learn from their mistakes and do not see it simply as a failure, but rather as a new opportunity to learn...
In contrast, people with a fixed mindset are uncomfortable with learning new things and are not able to grow by themselves. This is not because they can’t learn, but because they refuse to learn more and learn better for themselves.
This is why we must have a growth mindset. A growth mindset allows you to believe in things that are yet to come while a fixed mindset only allows you to see what’s in the present and hinder you from achieving things in the future. This is because such a mindset keeps you locked within a box full of doubt and self-criticism...
Another difference between the two in relation to learning styles is that a growth mindset is earned with positive learning habits. The habits include things such as positive reinforcement and allowance for mistakes to be made. While a fixed mindset is developed from accumulating negative habits over our lifetimes such as being afraid to make mistakes, being scared to take risks, and many more.
Furthermore, the way you see things can totally influence how likely you are to achieve your goals too.
If you see yourself as someone who is perfectly capable of change and have the will to act on it, then that’s how you will be. On the other hand, if you see yourself as someone who will be forever stuck in a situation, then that’s how your life will also turn out to be. Whether your strengths will stagnate or improve is totally up to you!
Steps to achieve your goals #achieveyourgoals
Now getting to the good part, let’s see what are some steps or things we can further do to increase our chances of achieving our goals. We must be dedicated enough to our goals for us to achieve better things in life. So here are some of our top tips:
Define your goals and make them specific
Believe in yourself and in what you can do. As we have said before, this is a key component of having a growth mindset. Believing that you are capable makes you more likely to surpass your own limit and keeps you open for growth!
Know your strengths and work on your weaknesses
Meditate or pray to clear your mind. Having a clear mind can help you find inspiration and motivation even in the most ire of times.
Be committed. If you don't put your 100% into it, then there’s no way you’ll be able to achieve 100% of your goals too! So stay focused and keep yourself from being distracted. Be absorbed in what you do and not in meaningless things that distract us in our everyday lives. When you’re fully committed to your goals, the rest just becomes easier for us to do.
Trust your intuition. We don’t always know how things are going to look for us, so it’s important that we also trust our gut when it comes to critical moments.
Be firm. There will be times when your faith in yourself will get tested and you feel like you’re just making a mistake, but be firm and stand for your goals even when your mind is telling you to just give it up. With a strong resolve and hope in your heart, any obstacles that come your way can be solvable and you will have an even stronger faith in yourself and what you are capable of.
Be hopeful. As said above, hope keeps you anchored on everything that you do. This keeps you going even in the darkest of days Hope will keep you alive and will keep you going. So trust yourself and be confident!
Speaking of being confident, know your strengths and capitalize on them to take on new challenges. Don’t be afraid of failure and be confident in whatever endeavor you start taking. Confidence allows you to take that first step and allows you to be more open to more connections
Make it a habit. Goal-setting isn’t just a one-time project that is over once you achieve it. We should set new goals every now and then and work our way to achieve them. In this way, having and achieving goals becomes a habit of its own. Habits are formed when we repetitively do things, right? So repetitively chase after your goals and it will become a habit that naturally flows out of you. This process allows you to make use of past experiences and continuously add them to this new habit of goals achieving.
Therefore, these are the ways you can totally achieve your goals. Now that you know them, simply follow them like a guide and it can help you achieve your goals and help build the habit of setting and achieving goals in your life.
This also allows you to hone a growth mindset and abandon a fixed mindset. Who knows? Your life might be drastically different a year from now if you start following these tips for your goals.
